Healthcare: Fighting for Quality Patient Care
Sharon is passionate about taking care of people – it is what she does. With a Masters in Nursing, Sharon worked her whole adult life in the healthcare field as a nurse and training others in the profession. As Chairman of the Health & Human Services committee, Sharon’s approach to healthcare policy mirrors her approach as a healthcare provider. In every circumstance, she evaluates what a policy will do for providing and fostering quality patient care. She will continue her fight to represent and speak up in a way that protects the doctor-patient relationship and promotes proper care.
Education: Supporting Lifelong Learning Initiatives
Sharon believes that education is the bedrock of our society. In her early career, Sharon leveraged her Masters in Education to teach disadvantaged learners. This provides her with a unique perspective as she pursues resources that support our K-12 students, teachers and a local school system that we can continue to be proud of. Cobb County is blessed with a great school system, and Sharon supports school choice giving parents a voice to determine the best educational solution for the unique needs of their child. Sharon also recognizes that education throughout life is what it takes to keep up with the way the world is moving and changing. She will continue to champion technical education and junior college programs that provide more options for our young adults and expand horizons for our future generations.
Economy: Creating Job Opportunities for Quality of Life
When our citizens are employed and successfully prepared for employment, that creates hope, self-worth and changes the trajectory of people’s lives. We must continue to champion the things that make Georgia the #1 place to do business:
